What are complete dentures?

Dentures are custom-made appliances made to replace missing teeth. Complete dentures are used after any remaining teeth are removed. There are two types of complete dentures: conventional and immediate. Conventional dentures are prepared after the teeth have been removed and the gums have begun to heal. Drs. Howard and Howard make models and measurements of your jaw to construct the denture, which can be placed in your mouth after about eight to twelve weeks.

Immediate dentures are prepared before your teeth are removed. It can be adjusted and positioned as soon as the teeth are removed. Because of this, the wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing process; however, because of the changes in the bones and gums during the healing process, more adjustments have to be made to immediate dentures.

What are partial dentures?

A partial denture consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored base. A partial denture is used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures fill spaces left by missing teeth and prevent other teeth from shifting.
