What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign is an orthodontic system that includes tight, custom-made clear aligners that are worn over the teeth. A series of these clear aligners are made by our dentists to help straighten your teeth or to correct your bite. Each version of the aligners will make slight adjustments to the position of your teeth. Aligners are made from clear plastic or acrylic and can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. Because the aligners are clear, they are nearly invisible. You will get a new aligner every few weeks to continue making those small adjustments that will lead to a more beautiful smile. Treatment generally takes between 10 and 24 months. The time required depends on how much your bite is off or how crooked your teeth are. We are proud to offer Invisalign in Encino, California!
Do I need Invisalign?
Invisalign works best for teeth straightening in adults and teens. Straightening a child’s teeth is more complicated because their mouths are still growing and developing. Invisalign can correct mild to moderate crowding and misalignment. Minor spacing or bite issues can also be treated using Invisalign. Patients who have more severe crowding or spacing issues, or severe underbites or overbites, may require more complex treatment.
